April - time to get things going
There's lots to be done this month. So the milder weather forecast for the weekend and next week is arriving right on time. You can get stuck in to those essential April jobs (and maybe some March ones bad weather stopped you doing),

Time to fill flower towers with colourful bedding, sowing veg in the greenhouse, ready to plant in flower towers in May Bedding plants are generally short lived or annual plants that last for a few seasons only. There are lots of different flower tower ready varieties such as pansies, primrose, petunias, geraniums, begonia (Begonia semperflorens) and Busy Lizzie (Impatiens) perfect for injecting
colour to your patio or balcony.
Bedding plants are big and established enough to be planted out when you get them. Because they’re inexpensive, they can be removed and replaced as they die down. They’re available all year round, so they’re great for adding an instant zing of colour to flower towers, baskets and pots whenever you need it.
Bedding plants are sometimes referred to as ‘thrillers' which might give you an idea of where they go. This is a great way of thinking about planting towers to achieve a stunning display.
It also applies to beds and borders.
